starting an online communication consulting business

A few days ago i had an interesting conversation with Michele(mylifecoach) and decided to analyze further the following idea and get some feedback.

I have worked both as a journalist and a human recources officer for the last 11 years.I want to combine the skills i gained from my experience on those 2 fields in order to start a small online communication consulting business.My potential customers wiil be small businesses and individuals. My services will include the writing and/or editing of : press releases, newsletters, speeches, articles, letters, cvs, internal communication memos etc
I want to build a webpage where i can promote my services that wiil be offered via skype, live chat, fax, email, telephone.
The services will be offered in greek language.
This will be a part time job that will become full time only if it is profitable enough.
If you like please discuss the following:
1. How can i measure the prospects of this business idea?
2. How can i market the business?
3. How do i determine the price list of my services?
4. How do i establish a payment method?
5. What legal issues should i consider?
6. What content do you think should be included on the web page?

Your input will help me to come up with an action plan.

Hi everyone,

As a coach who has been working with clients for a couple of years now I came across the following resource a short while ago.

I have downloaded the free report that were on offer, and have tailored them to suit my needs. In fact, I now use them to attract clients and also to give away as interesting information to clients. I was browsing the web to find out if Teresa Kings book is planned to be translated.

I'd like to integrate it as a part of the educations i offer in my Danish business. The problem is, that its rather demanding to hand out too much litterature in english.

The translate info can be hard to find, but if theres any rumour about it, then please let me know.

self confidence

hello all, im new to the disscusion nice to meet all of you.

i am a teenager about to get done with highschool. i usually play games all the time since i dont have many people to hang out with.

im having a bit of a problem with self confidence. is there any way to help with this? im homeschooled right now so i dont have to much of a social life, although i cant say i have none since i meet up on weekends with friends and on tus i have a 45 min gymnastics class. but i've found myself always thinking someone is looking down on me or getting anoied at me. i always think of the worst result when i want to do somthing, and assume that it will happen. i dont want to be mean, and i get afraid to make others mad while also i can have attitude or annoince problems somtimes. somtimes i even feel like i dont really care and jsut worry about myself and get ticked at others for little things. i dont like doing, but i've found myself doing it somtimes just becouse i dont want to be bored or not able to do anything.

any advice on how to improve the situation?

Ideas for careers?

Hi,

If anyone can help with this I'm sure you can. I know what I want and I'm pretty sure I can do whatever fits the bill, but I can only think of one career that would be suitable at the moment. To explain.. I'm 36, I have a Bachelors Degree in Electronic Eng. (Hnrs 1A) and 10+ years experience in IT, System Admin., Web Design, Programming and other computer related stuff. About four years ago, I was bored with life and moved to Russia where I worked briefly as a Sys. Admin. and now I teach English which I enjoy but it doesn't really make any money. I am also programming and trying to trade forex trading systems with a program called Metatrader, something which is costing me money and would cost me more if I wasn't careful. My wife(Russian) and I live like typical Russians in a typical Russian apartment with two psycho cats.

OK, so that's me, I like travelling and I want a profession that allows me to travel a lot, or gives me an excuse to travel a lot. I want stable money, not a lot, but enough to be comfortable. I've spent most of my working career on low pay, working very hard, particularly the last four years, so I've got no problem saying now I want some money. I love coding but I don't want to start my own coding business, it would take years to build it up and a lot of hard work, I've done it before and I am just not up to it at the moment. I enjoy a challenge but I prefer stability at the moment.

The one suitable career I have found is Teaching at International Schools. International teachers have the opportunity to travel to many different countries, the pay is stable, they have lots of holidays. They are looked after very well by the schools, in terms of housing, Visas etc. If they want to move on to another school/country they do so at the end of the contract and there is no stigma attached to changing schools often. I like teaching, the only problem I might have is I like to be independent and do things by myself, particularly work things. I don't like to have to answer to others.(sounds terrible doesn't it) Teaching in one of these schools requires a lot of teamwork, reporting, being graded by others which I don't like. I've worked in an international school and there also seems to be a lot of gossip and talking behind people's backs going on. My reaction to that sort of thing is to tell people where to go pretty quick, which could get me into trouble.

Anyway sorry for the long message, writing this has helped me clarify a few things. Please if you have any suggestions I'm all ears. JoeM

Hard work, or fun?

Hi there,

Everyone seems to think that they need to "work hard" to be successful...

But often working hard isn't sustainable...You get tired, you get sick of it, your health suffers, you procrastinate, etc., you know how it goes!

But what if you worked just as much, but you *enjoyed* the work? That is much more sustainable, and much more pleasant too...You are also much more likely to be able to tap into your creativity to continuously find new and better ways to do things.

One way to ensure that this is true is choose a career direction, or start your own business, such that what you are doing is (at least mostly) something you enjoy and can get passionate about. Luckily we are designed such that this is also likely to be a talent of yours.

But, what about right now, in the career you have now? Are there ways to make things more fun, less stressful and just more enjoyable in what you are doing right now? I will ask for responses before I give my ideas...

So what do you think are some ways to enjoy what you are doing right now more?
